ZONDACRYPTONawrocki Responds to Allegations: I Have Not Met Przemysław Kral

President Karol Nawrocki stated on Saturday, "I have never met Kral." He assured that the ministers in his office also did not maintain contacts with individuals from Zondacrypto. He added that he learns about right-wing politicians involved in the scandal from the media.

On Saturday, a two-day meeting titled "Future.pl" began at the residence of the President of Poland in the seaside town of Jurata, featuring President Karol Nawrocki and his wife Marta Nawrocka with the youth.

During a press conference, the president was asked about the Zondacrypto scandal and the right-wing politicians involved.

"If Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that the Zondacrypto scandal is the biggest scandal since 1989, he certainly has every right to that opinion, but it is not good news for the Prime Minister. (...) I remind you that it is the Polish services, for which the Prime Minister and the Minister coordinating special services are responsible, that are tasked with ensuring the well-being of Poles," said Nawrocki.

The President pointed out that "the Prime Minister posed with a Zondacrypto t-shirt." Nawrocki referred to a photo of Tusk published in the media from February 2026, in which the Prime Minister is holding a commemorative t-shirt of Lechia Gdańsk, which he received from young players of the club. The t-shirt featured the Zondacrypto logo, as the company had been the main sponsor of Lechia since January this year.

The President Distances Himself from the Head of Zondacrypto: Ministers Had No Contacts

The President emphasized that he does not personally know Przemysław Kral. - "I have never met Kral" - he stated. He also mentioned that he "learns about right-wing politicians involved in the scandal from the media." - "I am not interested in who met and under what circumstances with Mr. Kral" - he noted.

Nawrocki was also asked whether any of his collaborators during the campaign, and later as a minister or official in the presidential office, had met, contacted, or consulted with representatives of the cryptocurrency industry, including Zondacrypto. - "I asked my ministers if they had any contact with individuals from Zondacrypto. (...) I received confirmation that there were no such contacts," the president replied.

He also noted that he collaborates with 700 council members and 50 advisors. - "I certainly did not conduct such verification," said the president.

The President also responded to a question about his participation in the conservative CPAC conference in Rzeszów in May 2025, one of the sponsors of which was Zondacrypto. - "I found out about this later," Nawrocki said. He clarified that he was not the organizer of this conference, but participated at the invitation alongside representatives of the American administration.

Clash Over Veto at the Upcoming Session of the Sejm. Nawrocki: This is a Bad Law

On Friday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he would ask the Speaker of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, to vote on the President's veto of the cryptocurrency market law. The President has vetoed the law three times - in December 2025 and in February and June 2026. The Sejm twice - in December 2025 and April 2026 - failed to override the presidential veto in a vote. There has not yet been a vote on the last veto from June 11 this year. According to the announcement by Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty, this vote is to take place at the next session.

Nawrocki, when asked for a comment on this matter, emphasized that "he analyzes every law, including those concerning the cryptocurrency market, in terms of what it will bring to Poland." - "I make every decision personally." If there is a legislative initiative, please do not look for blame among those who prepare it, but look at the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland," said Nawrocki. He added that if his veto is overridden, "he understands that this will be the will of the Polish Sejm and the Polish parliament."

According to the president, "the law proposed by the parliamentary majority would not change the situation regarding the Zondacrypto scandal." - "This is simply a bad law, an attempt by the prime minister to shift responsibility," he assessed.

Details of the Zondacrypto Investigation: Links to the Disappearance of BitBay's Founder and Charges Against the Head of PKOl

The investigation into the cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto was initiated by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice on April 17 this year, focusing on fraud of significant value and money laundering. So far, several thousand reports of crime have been submitted.

At the beginning of August this year, the investigation into Zondacrypto was merged with proceedings in the Silesian branch of the National Prosecutor's Office, related to the disappearance of Sylwester Suszek - the founder of Zondacrypto's predecessor, the cryptocurrency exchange BitBay. Suszek disappeared in March 2022. The combined investigation is currently being conducted by the Silesian branch of the PK.

Zondacrypto has been the general sponsor of PKOl since October 2025. In April 2026, Radosław Piesiewicz announced that if another tranche of funds did not arrive by the end of the month, the committee would terminate the sponsorship agreement. On April 30, a decision was made to extinguish and dismantle the sponsor's neon sign from the committee's headquarters in Warsaw.

On Thursday morning, police from the Central Bureau of Cybercrime detained the president of PKOl.

On Saturday morning, the spokesperson for the Attorney General, prosecutor Anna Adamiak, informed PAP that the Katowice court decided on a three-month detention for Piesiewicz. He was charged with paid protection and satisfying a group of creditors to the detriment of others in connection with the threat of insolvency. The charges relate to offenses under Article 230 paragraph 1 and Article 302 paragraph of the Penal Code.

According to the prosecutor's office, the head of PKOl in 2025 cited influence in the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), which allegedly stemmed from acquaintances with the former prime minister, and in exchange for a financial benefit -- a watch worth nearly 170,000 PLN -- undertook to resolve a matter for the head of Zondacrypto, Przemysław Kral. This concerned UOKiK proceedings regarding this cryptocurrency exchange.

The second crime attributed to the head of PKOl concerns satisfying creditors at the expense of other creditors. According to PK, Piesiewicz urged a member of the management board of BB Trade Estonia OU (operator of zondacrypto.com) to withdraw funds from this exchange -- 195,000 PLN and 100,000 euros. This took place in April this year when issues regarding Zondacrypto's solvency became public.

On Wednesday, the WP.pl portal reported on a meeting between PiS MP, member of the parliamentary committee on digitization, innovation, and modern technologies Michał Moskala, and former CBA officer Artur Chodziński with Przemysław Kral. According to the portals, the MP wanted to cooperate with the Zondacrypto exchange, which collapsed a few months later. The PiS MP stated that he spoke with Kral only once. He emphasized that neither he nor the foundation he collaborates with (Fundacja ORGiD - Observatory of Economic Development and Democracy - PAP) engaged in cooperation with Zondacrypto and its president, nor did they accept any funds from them.
