U.S. goods import data for July increased by 3.7%, exceeding expectations, while goods exports fell by 2.9%. Imports of capital goods saw the largest increase since 1993, primarily driven by computers and accessories, semiconductors, and telecommunications equipment. This growth is closely linked to the ongoing import of high-performance AI server components, AI computing core accelerators, network infrastructure equipment, data center power systems, and liquid cooling components for artificial intelligence data centers.
