Two Teachers from Ussuriysk Lost Over 2 Million Rubles in Fake Crypto Investments
Two residents of Ussuriysk, who worked as teachers, became victims of scammers, losing over 2 million rubles in fake crypto investments. One of the teachers, 26 years old, saw an advertisement about easy earnings in a messenger and contacted the scammers, who posed as security specialists for brokerage accounts. She transferred over 500,000 rubles, but when she tried to withdraw her money, she was told to involve a trusted person. The second teacher, seeking help from a colleague, took out a loan and provided the scammers with a payment code, resulting in a loss of 1.5 million rubles. Investigators have opened a criminal case for large-scale fraud. The scheme resembled a financial pyramid, promising quick returns and imposing new conditions after the money was transferred. Such cases highlight the risks associated with offers of quick income in digital assets.
