NEAR Protocol Chain Abstraction 'Lifetime Operations' Surpasses 50 Million
The 'lifetime operations' aggregated from the chain abstraction infrastructure of NEAR Protocol have surpassed 50 million. This reflects the actual interactions of a multi-chain infrastructure that reduces the wallet, gas, and bridge procedures across various blockchains. The medium explained that operations may include signing requests and cross-chain executions, but the detailed aggregation definitions have not been confirmed. Chain abstraction is structured to help users utilize assets across multiple networks without directly managing blockchain-specific wallets, gas tokens, bridges, and chain transitions. NEAR Protocol implements this through chain signatures and NEAR Intents. NEAR Intents is a service where a solver executes transactions across multiple chains when a user presents the desired outcome. The official NEAR Intents page shows a cumulative transaction amount of $27,793,884,364 and 34 supported chains, with a 24-hour transaction volume of $11,259,988 as of the 8th. The cumulative transaction amount is an indicator of the scale of funds moved, while the 50 million lifetime operations are a metric closer to execution counts. The two figures should not be directly compared as they are based on different aggregation criteria. NEAR Protocol describes chain abstraction as a link connecting NEAR Intents, AI agents, and cross-chain payments, and the 2026 roadmap also includes related content.
