Banco Provincia explains error in incorrect charges of up to 95000
Clients of Banco Provincia in Buenos Aires reported incorrect automatic charges under the concept of "maintenance fee" that reached up to 95000. The banking entity confirmed that it was an internal technical failure that generated undue debits in a group of accounts. Complaints flooded social media and customer service channels from the early hours of the day. The entity announced that automatic restitution of the amounts will be made to the affected accounts without the need for clients to carry out any procedures. Although it was estimated that the reimbursements would be completed by Tuesday morning, the normalization of the system will extend throughout the rest of the day due to the large number of affected users. The bank reiterated its apologies for the inconvenience and assured that the issue was temporary.
