The preliminary report also indicated that no injuries compatible with sexual assault were found. However, investigators conducted the necessary protocols and requested additional studies to confirm or rule out that hypothesis accurately.{#p-1785769829182-84449}
The young woman had been summoned for a supposed job interview at a beach resort in the southern area of Mar del Plata. Her body was found near the location by a police officer and Mailén's brother, according to her uncle.{#p-1785769829182-17678}
The family claimed there were delays in the initial response from the authorities and stated that the search began on their own initiative. Luis, the victim's uncle, initiated the operation along with the young woman's brother after noticing they were not receiving quick responses.{#p-1785769829182-41588}

Mailén was the mother of two girls aged 1 and 6, a fact that her family highlighted during the call for justice after the crime was revealed.{#p-1785770163144-90082}
As the investigation progresses, the young woman's mother claimed that there would be a third fugitive person in addition to the two detained in the case. María stated that the suspect fled when her children arrived at the property where they found her sister.{#p-1785769829182-94143}
The accused are Agustín Nicolás Díaz Bartolomé and José Luis Aquino, the security guards at the beach resort where Mailén was found, who have been identified as the presumed perpetrators of the femicide. This Monday, they participated in the investigative hearing, where investigators seek to reconstruct how the attack occurred.{#p-1785769829182-80914}

"I know little to nothing about Valentín. I only know from a friend who managed to get into my daughter's networks and contacted him and started to let everything out. He says he was a boyfriend, acquaintance, or close friend. He showed up with a lawyer, but he never came when we were looking for him and didn’t say 'I was there, I left her, I hit her,'" María stated.{#p-1785769829182-21326}
She also asserted: "I believe he might be involved because, although a taxi driver does not have to protect the person they are carrying, if you see that it is a place where there is nothing, why would you leave her? He could have advised her, especially if he says they had a bond, you take care of her, especially if you see three people. One escaped from my children, not from the police."{#p-1785769829182-79313}
Regarding the judicial progress, the woman expressed her dissatisfaction with the authorities' actions and demanded answers: "Should I trust the Justice when it was my children who found her? I do not ask for life imprisonment because no one will bring my daughter back, but I do ask that it does not happen again to another girl."

Japan and the United States bought yen together on 31 July 2026, their first coordinated yen-buying operation since June 1998, and the currency has since firmed from a 40-year low of 163.99 into the 155-156 area. This explainer sets out the three channels linking the yen to bitcoin: carry-trade unwind risk, yen-denominated repricing, and the dollar-weakness correlation that points the other way.
