Ukraine to Audit Weapon Storage Sites After Bucha District Tragedy
The Ukrainian Defense Forces will conduct an audit of all weapon and ammunition storage sites near residential buildings following the tragedy in the village of Mila in the Bucha district of Kyiv region, where powerful explosions occurred on August 28. As of 14:50 on August 29, 37 people are reported dead and 15 injured. Rescuers continue to search for two individuals under the rubble, with medical personnel and police on-site. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the placement of explosive material storage near residential areas is unacceptable. All responsible leaders of security and defense forces have been instructed to conduct a complete audit of weapon storage locations to eliminate the presence of such facilities near residential buildings. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the first strike hit an ammunition storage site that should not have been located there. As a result of the detonation, a fire broke out, and traffic on the M-06 "Kyiv - Chop" highway was blocked.
