Days ago, details of U.S.-Iran negotiations were revealed, indicating that the Trump administration had bypassed Iranian negotiation representatives to directly contact the Revolutionary Guard. In mid-May, U.S. negotiators, while attempting to reach an agreement to end the war with Iran, were unable to determine whether the representatives they were dealing with truly represented the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, leading to this unusual approach. The secret communication channel was managed by Nechirvan Barzani, the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, who has gained the trust of both U.S. and Revolutionary Guard leadership.
