Tether Reports $1.5 Billion Profit in Q2 2026
Tether International, S.A. de C.V. announced a net operating profit of approximately $1.5 billion for the second quarter of 2026, supported by its portfolio of U.S. Treasury bonds. At the end of the quarter, Tether's reserves exceeded its liabilities by about $4.11 billion. The circulating supply of USDT reached approximately $184.6 billion, with an increase of nearly $446 million compared to the first quarter. USDT accounts for over 60% of the stablecoin market, with $183.4 billion in circulation, primarily on Tron and Ethereum. Tether also welcomed over 30 million new users, bringing its global user base to several hundred million. The reserves are primarily composed of liquid assets, and Tether has reduced its exposure to secured lending by about $2.38 billion while adding 14 tons of physical gold to its holdings. The company continues its audit process with a Big Four firm to enhance the transparency of its reserves in a challenging regulatory environment.
