Russia Destroyed 12 Shopping Malls in Ukraine, Losses Amounted to 3.23 Billion UAH
Since the beginning of 2026, Russian attacks have destroyed 3 and damaged 9 shopping and entertainment centers in Ukraine, with direct damage reaching 3.23 billion UAH. According to the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers (URTC), more shopping malls were damaged only in 2022. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 41 facilities have been affected: 29 shopping malls were damaged, and 12 were destroyed. A facility is considered destroyed if 40% or more of its value is lost. Most attacks in 2026 occurred in August, with affected facilities including the 'Olympia' shopping mall in Pavlograd, 'Sunny Gallery' in Kryvyi Rih, 'Oscar' in Kherson (destroyed), and 'Karavan' in Dnipro. Direct losses from attacks in 2026 exceed 3.2 billion UAH, not including lost profits and other indirect consequences. On August 28, the 'Karavan' shopping mall in Dnipro resumed operations after the aftermath of the attack was addressed.
