Polymarket Discusses New Investment Aiming for $20 Billion Valuation

Polymarket is discussing new investments with a target valuation of $20 billion. As crypto-based prediction markets expand into new product lines for exchanges and fintech platforms, competition among major players is intensifying. Polymarket is currently negotiating funding with investors, although the amount and participating investors have not been disclosed. In March, Polymarket received a $600 million cash investment from Intercontinental Exchange. The Intercontinental Exchange plans to invest $1 billion in Polymarket by October 2025 and will also buy up to $40 million in existing shareholder equity. Polymarket has also established a regulatory foundation for re-entering the U.S. market, having acquired the CFTC-licensed derivatives exchange QCX for $112 million in July 2025. Competitor Kalshi recently raised $1 billion and reported an 800% increase in institutional trading volume. Coinbase and Robinhood are also expanding their prediction market businesses. Polymarket's valuation is a target mentioned in investment negotiations, and the actual completion of funding and final valuation have not yet been confirmed.
