The combined market capitalization of the Global Dollar (USDG) issued by Paxos and PayPal USD (PYUSD) increased by $313.6 million over a 30-day period until mid-August. Of this, the Global Dollar accounted for approximately $305 million, while PayPal USD saw an increase of about $8.6 million. The total market capitalization of the Global Dollar is estimated to be around $3.4 billion. The Global Dollar is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, with its circulation reflecting the same trend as its market cap. This increase is concentrated in the Global Dollar, which has rapidly expanded since being designated as a native stablecoin on the Robinhood chain. The Global Dollar has a DeFi deposit amount reaching $929.2 million, with increasing utilization in on-chain finance for lending, collateral, and settlement. PayPal USD is distributed through the PayPal payment network and is spreading in the market via existing payment interfaces and a global distribution network. Paxos backs both tokens with dollar assets, and reserve verification plays a crucial role.
