OpenAI's current annual revenue has exceeded $40 billion, doubling since the end of 2025, which has bolstered the company's confidence in going public. Recently, revenue growth has accelerated, primarily due to the expansion of its AI programming software business, increased subscription sales, and additional revenue from advertising. The core consumer business has also maintained steady growth. OpenAI and Anthropic are competing for enterprise clients, with both companies having submitted their IPO filings, and Anthropic is expected to go public as early as this fall. OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman stated that the annual revenue in July grew by over 20% month-over-month. Demand in the AI agent sector is rising, with representative products including the programming tool Codex and the general assistant ChatGPT Work. To respond to competition, OpenAI has lowered prices on some of its models.
