International Crude Oil Rises as Russia Prepares to Intensify Strikes on Ukraine

By: www.theblockbeats.info|2026/08/26 16:22:43

On August 27, international crude oil prices continued to rise, with Brent crude surpassing $88 per barrel, an increase of 2.57% for the day; WTI crude futures climbed above $83 per barrel, up 2.33% for the day. After determining that peace negotiations have stalled, Russia is preparing to escalate its military strikes on Ukraine, considering strong conventional ballistic missile attacks on infrastructure in Kyiv and other cities. Sources indicate that all negotiation frameworks have collapsed, and both sides have returned to square one, with Putin unwilling to end the war due to sanctions and Ukraine's attacks on Russian refineries and logistics networks. Moscow views Ukraine's airstrikes as attacks from NATO countries, as NATO provides weapons and intelligence to Kyiv. The current phase of hostilities has not yet reached a peak of military escalation.
