Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre reported that a drone nearly struck Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's plane during its takeoff from Moldova. Zelensky was en route to Oslo for a farewell ceremony for Norway's King Harald. According to Støre, the incident occurred just as the plane was about to take off. A representative from the Norwegian Prime Minister's office, Bhanudja Rossiya, noted that it is unclear how many drones were in the air. Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that the flight was delayed due to the threat to the aircraft. Zelensky arrived in Norway on September 8 and participated in the ceremony in central Oslo. The plane took off after the drones disappeared from the airspace. A source in the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that two Russian UAVs were in the air at the time of takeoff. The Ukrainian side monitored their movement and waited for them to disappear from radar. One of the drones crossed the border at 16:20 and returned to Moldova at 17:04. Zelensky's plane left Moldova's airspace at 17:30, and radar data confirms that it was not in the air simultaneously with the drones.
