In the first seven months of 2026, 1 million 511.5 thousand tons of cargo were transported through the Ukrainian-Moldovan railway crossings, which is 35% more compared to the same period last year. The main factor for this growth was the export of grain, which amounted to 491.8 thousand tons, an increase of 194%. Additionally, the transportation of construction materials reached 358.4 thousand tons, matching the level of 2025. Cement transportation decreased by 53 thousand tons to 146.7 thousand tons, while black metals increased by 14 thousand tons to 129.3 thousand tons. The transportation of chemical and mineral fertilizers amounted to 100.6 thousand tons, increasing by 99 thousand tons. In August, the volume of grain exports by rail decreased by 72% compared to July, with the decline occurring towards the ports of Greater Odessa, while transshipment through the port of Izmail and western borders increased.
