Bitcoin May Decline in August, History Shows Drops

In July, Bitcoin improved its prices after a collapse at the beginning of June, but analysts are unsure if the cycle's bottom has been reached. August is the toughest month for Bitcoin, which has historically recorded four consecutive years of value declines during this period. Data from 2013 to 2025 shows that Bitcoin has dropped nine times in August, with four instances of double-digit losses. The largest drop occurred in 2015 when BTC lost 18.67%. Only four times has the cryptocurrency improved its prices in August, most recently in 2021. The average increase for BTC in August is 1.12%, but the median is -7.49%, making this month the worst for BTC. Analysts fear that Bitcoin has not yet reached its final bottom, as the cryptocurrency has lost between 70% to 90% after each new record. Currently, BTC has lost about 50% from its last ATH of $126,000, suggesting the possibility of further declines. On the other hand, Bitcoin may be more resilient to severe corrections, as each subsequent crash becomes shallower.
