Bank of America released a report indicating that Intel's $20 billion equity issuance will dilute earnings per share by approximately 4%-5% due to the increase in share count. Nevertheless, this move is still seen as a positive leading indicator of management's increased confidence in the foundry business. The institution believes that this financing is overall a net positive factor, as the scale of foundry operations and customer confidence will drive long-term revenue growth and operational efficiency improvements, enough to offset the short-term dilution of earnings per share. Analysts reiterated their buy rating on Intel but lowered the price target from $160 to $145 to reflect the moderate dilution of earnings per share and recent adjustments in valuation multiples for AI computing peers.
